A stream, a little green, a moment to stay. Our first chapter begins at Shimen Gorge.
A NOTE FROM THE LANDSCAPE
Stay with the water.
We filmed this short moment at Shimen Gorge in Dali. The camera stays with the stream: water moving between stones, leaves at the edges, and green beyond.
Sometimes a place stays in memory through a small detail. The movement of water. The colour of a leaf. A moment we were in no hurry to leave.
ShanHai began with a fascination with Yunnan and the feelings its landscapes leave behind. Scent is our first way of bringing a little of that world into everyday life.
